FINNISH-CHINESE VISUAL DICTIONARY
KASINO CREATIVE STUDIO together with graphic designer and calligraphy artist PAN JIANFENG have created a Finnish-Chinese visual dictionary that combines Finnish culture with Chinese characters. The work was commissioned by FINPRO and MUSIC EXPORT FINLAND, and will feature in the visual imagery of the Finnish pavilion at the SHANGHAI WORLD EXPO and in the marketing material for Finland's participation at the massive event, The project was also picked to the 2010 INTERNATIONAL CALLIGRAPHY ART FESTIVAL HANGZHOU to be held in June.
HUSKY RESCUE VIDEO
We are proud to premiere the video we produced to HUSKY RESCUE’S latest single SOUND OF LOVE. The flick represents KASINO CREATIVE STUDIO’S view of the band’s cinematic electronic folk. Severe reverse moves create a seriously off-kilter atmosphere. Once again we collaborated with marvellous motion designer JAMES MARTIN. More from the band on the new album SHIP OF LIGHT. The KASINO CREATIVE ANNUAL premieres on May 1st, 2010. This is the first publication in a series of stand-alone annuals each of which exhaustively study a specific topic. This time KASINO CREATIVE STUDIO will examine hair through works commissioned from its talent pool.

THE RIP TEES
AHONEN & LAMBERG and OVERTURE both pimped’n’beautified the classic and forever sold-out KASINO A4 t-shirt. The design teams did their thing on the A4 on the front and it was printed on an AMERICAN APPAREL shirt. It is the ultimate farewell souvenir of the dead magazine. Go & Order.

We are in a time of transition as the new decade looms ahead. Our core team will be three again as Mr. Versatile aka Mr. Producer aka Mr. ANTTI ROUTTO starts his new job looking over the creative hub at Viewmasters of Helsinki. Show 'em what you’ve got!
THE LAST PARTY PHOTOS
On Friday October 16th, 2009 we celebrated the publication of KASINO A4 magazine’s final issue. No mourning was necessary at this funeral — as you can see from the PICS. THE LAST PARTY
KASINO A4 — #10: THE DEADLINE ISSUE was released and the entire magazine was put to rest, so we partied like it was the last party (as it was for the magazine). The venue in the very heart of Helsinki, Bio Rex, was packed all the way to the terrace railings. Our very special guests got to feast on IVANAHELSINKI’S fashion and MAATILATORI’S bites, while AALTONEN & TAMMINEN provided the monolithic necklace that got you in, and other collaborators, who made the night perfect were PERONI, PELAGO BICYCLES, BEAMHILL, PRECISION AUDIO & the MISF*TS DJs, who guided everyone to the end dancing. The last party proved to be the best. Thanks.
FLICK PREMIERES
KASINO’S moving image department cooked up some true treats in 2009. First there was some countryside craziness in Masku, Finland featuring REGINA’S song Totuus minusta. That was followed by a teaser flick for the scandalous Finnish band LAPKO as it set off to record its fourth album in New York. Both flicks were made in cooperation with motion designer maestro JAMES MARTIN. And remember 2008's super-hot flick “NEW PORN”, a titillating collaboration with director MIIKKA LOMMI of KENNEL HELSINKI — the release coincided with that of KASINO A4 #8: THE BEST SEX ISSUE. KULTAHUIPPU!
Kasino A4 was given the Golden Award in the Vuoden Huiput — Best of the Year 2008 competition. Meanwhile, our very own Jussi Puikkonen was celebrated as Finland’s Magazine Photographer of the Year by Aikakausmedia (The Finnish Periodical Publishers’ Association). We take the praise and prestige humble’n’happy as ever.
THE GRAYSCALE BAR
Kasino A4 — The Grayscale Bar was open for a glorious three days in Luxembourg during the Colophon2009 magazine event. It was a three day blast of white drinks and black drinks. Relive it with these images — best-viewed with a swig of vodka. Or coffee. Thanks to all involved!
